Volunteer

It takes a lot of work to keep this kind of program going. Shady Hollow needs all kinds of volunteers for lots of different tasks. Some of the tasks require knowledge of horses but many don't. For a majority of the help we need we can teach you, if needed. So don't let inexperience stop you. We need your help to keep this program going.

Volunteer Training

Volunteering at Shady Hollow

Volunteering at Shady Hollow has helped me become more in touch with the outdoors. I used to hate going outside. I'm that kind of person who stays inside and watches television and reads books. At first, I didn't think I'd like volunteering. I thought, "Oh great, a farm... just where I want to work." (Sarcastically, of course). But I went there, and I was surprised. It was very different than how I had pictured it. Helping with horses gave me something fun to do on the weekends other than lounge about watching TV. And I also enjoy helping the people. It makes me feel as if I really am doing something special, and just how happy they are makes me smile. I'm glad I can work at a place like Shady Hollow, and I hope I can work there for a while to come.
